Wedding days are always a little sad for me.  It’s usually the last day that I have with a lot of my couples and brides.  We’ve spent the better part of a year communicating and getting to know one another and by wedding day we’ve become great friends.

I don’t even know where to begin with this couple.  They are simply that amazing!  Mary found me last summer through a former bride and immediately contacted me to meet.  When she suggested we meet at Papa’s and Beer (a local Mexican restaurant) for margarita’s, I knew we were two peas in a pod!

Facebook has changed a lot over the years and has been a driving force of bringing long lost friends back together.  Marshall and Mary went to college together at Erskine College in the little town of Due West, but because Marshall graduated 3 years before Mary, they actually didn’t hang out until after Mary graduated.  They reconnected because Facebook suggested them to be friends!  Goes to show that that pesky algorithm that Facebook has suggesting friends can sometimes be a good thing!

After four years of dating, Marshall surprised Mary with a trip to Charleston.  Knowing that Edisto Beach is Mary’s favorite, he took her out for a day of relaxing on Edisto and then to the nearby Botany Beach, a federally protected beach.  While watching the sunset, Marshall gave her the surprise of the weekend by popping the question!  After saying yes, they headed back in to Charleston for yet another surprise of dinner with several of Mary’s friends to celebrate!

Their #sassysteinwedding took place at the beautiful Hollow at Paris Mountain in Greenville, SC and of course was classically complete with lace, glittery gold, Henry’s BBQ, Brick Street Sweet Potato Cake, and of course…. “Married-Rita’s” for guests to sip on during the ceremony.  It was such a beautiful day and so relaxed.

Enjoy a peek into their amazing day and if you’d like to see the full wedding head here!
